We first met during a chance encounter at Saint Marys Universitys campus bar, the Gorsebrook Lounge. Ryan was in Halifax earlier than usual training for his second season with the Huskies and Lexa was working a day shift at the bar. Ryan thought she was very beautiful but was too shy to say anything. Thankfully later that day we matched on Tinder which gave Ryan his opportunity to talk to her and after an uninspiring first message things did not take off immediately. Over time Lexa and Ryan continued talking becoming better and closer friends until another chance meeting at a bar downtown. From then on things became serious fairly quickly, Lexa came to all of Ryans games and we were inseperable in our spare time. Moving in together less than a year later, we were each others best friends. Ryan asked Lexa to marry him in the company of our friends on a trip to Las Vegas. The proposal did not go entirely smoothly with Ryan crying during his speech and Lexa confused, pushing him to explain what he was doing before he finally brought the heirloom ring out of his pocket and got on one knee. We have been each others best friends, supports, fans, and lovers for over seven years now and we could not be more excited to finally tie the knot, surrounded with our closest friends and family.
